Client: The Learning Green
Project Type: Logo Design
Tech & Tools Used: Sketching, Branding, Wacom Drawing Tablet, Adobe Illustrator
The Learning Green is a consulting company dedicated to empowering organizations with skills and tools to make sustainable choices that benefit the environment and business growth. TLG's founder entrusted me to redesign the current logo she was using, which she had made in Canva. After receiving the company's colors and fonts, I kicked off the design process with a mood board for inspiration.
After the mood board, I did a few rounds of sketches until landing on a design the client was happy with. She requested a tree and a book to still be included in the logo, as she felt that best spoke to TLG's mission. Though the new logo takes inspiration from the old, the two icons are better integrated, creating a design TLG founder can be proud of.

Round one of logo sketches. The client liked the idea of incorporating tree roots and/or a twisted trunk. The bottom right was an experimental take on an architectural drawing of a tree due to the founder's landscape architecture background.

Round two of sketches. Here, we narrowed it down to her two favorite concepts of the original four while making a few adjustments/adding elements she liked from the other options.
